About The Word Doctor

During a 25-year journalism career, Ron Cooper learned the importance of effective communications. He fielded story pitches from countless PR professionals and plowed his way through thousands of press releases—some good, some bad.

In 12 years with Business First, Ron covered manufacturing, retail, banking, accounting, restaurants, law, engineering, architecture and many more fields. In addition, Ron wrote feature stories on business leaders. He has written more than 5,000 articles in his career and ghostwritten three books.

In four years as the former Director of Communications of Zoom Group, Ron scored major media coverage for one of Kentucky’s largest providers of vocational training for adults with developmental disabilities.

As a media consultant, Ron helps companies and organizations raise their public profile in the media and assists with special event publicity. He also ghostwrites blogs and content for Facebook fan pages. He has taught media training workshops at the University of Louisville and for such clients as UPS, TARC, Kentucky Justice Association, and Doe-Anderson Public Relations.

• Editing organizational management book by a local author
  
• Just edited a book for a stroke survivor for publication.
• Working on a series of articles for the Louisville Convention and Visitors Bureau for the upcoming Visitors Guide.
